Food Blog Chatterbox 3/28/08

Every Friday, we skim the cyber soup to find the top food related blog posts for your reading pleasure!

I recently stumbled across Sunday Night Dinner which is a well written group blog with some dandy visuals. The blog grew out of actual dinner parties this group of friends would have from time to time and that spirit of friendship really shines through here. Most recent post: Light Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting ( make that a big piece, please.)

The Mommy Cooks blog features a mom from Pittsburgh with a passion for cooking. The recipes (as the blogger describes them) are fast and easy dishes which seem to have a lot of flavor. Featuring a simple approach, this blog does a good job of capturing the challenge of cooking for a family and what it's really like when you try to fit food into a busy life. Most recent post: Turkey Cabbage Casserole

The Half Baked blog has a nice recipe on making youir own Strawberry Preserves-- which are easier to make than one might think! There's lots of desserts on hand here so be sure to stop by this blog-- I usually have a cup of coffee when I read it (all those desserts, y'know...)

The Thoughtful Chef blog is exactly what it says it is--- a Chef ruminating on his life, both professional and otherwise. I found this an interesting read as it gives us a picture of the mindset of a professional chef--- check it out, eh?

One of the more striking recipes I viewed recently was for Luxurious Omelette Cake with Fennel and Kohlrabi Salad which comes from the British blog Food Stories. What a cool looking dish and a unique way to serve eggs. Great job on this one!

Some wonderful homespun recipes can be found on the My Recipes blog. I enjoyed the most recent post on Yugolavian Waffle Cookies. Mmmmm!
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYBODY!
