Every Friday, we skim the cyber soup to find the top food related blog posts for your reading pleasure!

Our first tasty item comes from the One Hot Stove blog which has a great recipe called Sig's Butternut Squash Erissery.  Beyond the recipe, which features a zesty melange of flavors such as coconut, curry and chiles, is the blogger's interest in working with this particular recipe which was created by another blogger.  This came about by participating in a blogger event hosted by Myamii at the For The Love of Food blog and  spirit of appreciation in another blogger's work is captured thusly:  "Anyone who reads this blog probably knows that I love 'cooking from the blogs'. I treat the food blog world as a virtual culinary school populated by the most talented teachers."  This is a good example of how the food blogger community is dedicated to sharing food ideas.

The Little Spatula blog posted a recipe for Chorizo Hash which, besides sounding delicious, is simple and to-the-point... and that's the point of a dish like this, non?

Speaking of simplicity, you should read the Easy Lemon Curd recipe from the Tomatilla blog.  It eloquently shows how a cook can pare things down to the bare essential without losing a bit of flavor.

The Food Vibe blog has a great post titled Winter Menu that presents a passionate take on Saffron, Sweet Potato and Fennel Soup.  I enjoyed the blogger's use of non-food reference points such as the weather (yeah, that's it... the weather)... to make his point and...that's the point of blogging, eh?  A good vibe indeed!

Those of you in search of hearty fare should head over to Laura Rebecca's Kitchen blog where she's cooking up some Honey Roasted Lamb with Arugula.  Ahhh!  This Valentine's Day dish assembles some terrific flavor elements such as honey, fresh thyme, garlic and pine nuts.  You can almost taste this grub... good job there!

(fanfare please!)  Our Comfort Food of the Week Blue Ribbon award goes to the Bacon Show blog for its Bacon Biscuits with Roasted Apple Butter post.  The recipe is simple, direct and packed with down-to-earth goodness but not reccommended for the faint hearted--- after all, we're talking 'bout bacon, butter and heavy cream here, y'know!

Remember...

if you're cooking up something good, put aside a little bit for me!

Hoo hey! I've popped out of my hole this weekend to see if I can see my shadow. Shadow - yes. Feet - no. Still need to shed a few more pounds.

Anyway, I've tagged you with a meme that you can find out more about over at my blog. First one of these I've done and I promise not to make a habit of it.

Okay, back in my hole now.
