Food Blog Chatterbox 10/6/07

Each week, our crack news staff scans the cyber soup to find the top food blog posts for your reading pleasure!

Mae's Food Blog had an entertaining post that presents the reader with some interesting details about cooking during the Renaissance which is titled What Did Mona Lisa Eat? If you're into food & cultural history, you should find this of some interest.
The Habeas Brulee blog posted a killer recipe for a Sweet Potato, Chestnut and Bacon Soup that seems just right for the fall season. Lots of homey goodness abounds!

The wild & wacky meat lovin food blog, MeatHenge, posted a lip smacking post titled Perfection In Pan Seared Pork Chops which offers up some in-depth photos that will unleash the "I-want-pork" monster in all of us.

The Cookbook Junkie blog has a fun post that is centered around cleaning out your pantry and making an Easy Meat Sauce. I find that when a cook uses whatever ingredients that are on hand things can get pretty interesting. We've all done it! I actually think this type of "cooking-by-the-seat-of-your=pants" type cooking can be really liberating in a way. Hmmm, let's see what's in the cupboard!

The Soul Food Kitchen blog posted a recipe for Oxtail Stew which really captures the essence of simple & hearty fare such as this. This is definitely something I'll try out in my own kitchen when the winter weather sets in. This dish looks "yumbo-licious!" (oooh---I sound like Rachel Ray!)
Until next time, we'll keep skimming the cyber soup! Adios Muchachos!
Website Update: I wanted to thank all the folks who stopped by & voted in last week's poll. I've posted the results above this week's new poll. The new poll seems like a no-brainer but it ain't over till it's over! Stop by & vote!
